japanese fashion

someone spammed on the tagboard of a friend’s blog, advertising their website selling japanese and korean-inspired fashion at supposedly cheap prices.

sigh. why does everyone want to copy japanese fashion?

it’s summer sale now, and frankly there’s nothing i want to buy. i’m tired of seeing the same kind of brightly coloured, loud floral skirts, or that dress/skirt look with the thick waist belt and a white tshirt (or black, or grey) on top. everyone is dressed in the same way!!

nor do i want to see any more thin, translucent tops that definitely require you to wear a spag or tank top on the inside. i mean, it’s freaking summer and it’s damn hot AND humid. thin as that layer is, if i wear that i’m still wearing two layers. why cant they just make clothes that are thin enough to be cool, yet not so thin that i need to end up wearing an additional layer instead?

it’s even more annoying because i kinda need to get more work clothes, as 2 are getting a bit worn out and it would be really good if i had another white/white-based top that i can match easily with my skirts. i dont really have a choice but to look at all these clothes and get annoyed that i cant find anything to my liking.

also, what’s with those over-the-top frills on blouses? no one needs to have frills that seem to explode all over your bust or down your front! i just want a blouse that’s simple but not too plain. been to quite a few places, but nothing. if i were back home i could just go to DANO and problem solved lor… sigh.

and really, it’s not that different here as it is from singapore, where if you walk down orchard road from far east to plaza sing you’ll see the same shops appear 3 or 4 times..  you can certainly see the same shops in umeda, shinsaibashi and tennoji.. and over in kobe too. today, i was in the hanshin section of Umeda, and there were already TWO shops selling the same damn thing. and i know that there’s yet another one of that same shop over at the hankyu side cos i saw the exact same clothes last week! urgh.

i’m just hoping that china will reap some rewards.
