kobe beef

for anyone interested, i went here on sunday, and the beef is really good! it’s recommended by w.y.’s boss and quite a few pple i know have tried it and approved :)

the beef is cooked teppanyaki style, so it’s nice seeing it grilled before your very eyes. the chef seemed quiteskilled with the knife too, and mine was perfect at medium rare (although to be honest, i think medium rare should have had more blood. but it was tender and juicy so no complaints there!)

for lunch, the set comes with rice, soup, salad and fried taogay and xiao baicai. so all that and 150g (too little!) of beef costs 2980yen.

apparently this is meant to be a very reasonable price for kobe beef!

Joanne i have been checking your blog daily for about 8 or 9 months. it is one of my favorite things to do on the internet haha. seriously!

well i know that sounds somewhat creepy but (1) japan is one of my favorite places on earth, and (2)at one time i really wanted to teach ESL in Japan (I still do!). Either way the two of those things led me across your blog quite some time ago. i never commented on anything because i felt like an interloper/lurker...which is precisely the case i suppose.

Anyhoos

i am actually going to be teaching ESL in Seoul the Spring of 2010 and i started a blog so that i could [hopefully] take some inspiration from your blog and put put some useful information about the process and why i chose Korea over other places. This is a lofty goal considering my present inability to properly add comments or use the blog interface controls.

until that time my blog will be a collection of random odds and ends (travel, music, cultures, photos. It will probably suck, so i hope you don't mind me listing your blog as one of my favorites. hopefully it wont condemn yours to Death by Association.

And yeah, thats a great price on kobe beef!

keep up the great/fun to read work. take care!

Heya, thanks for commenting! I guess it is a bit weird, but i'm very flattered that you find my blog interesting!! haha. thanks very much for the compliment :)

oooh korea pays really well for ESL lessons i heard. unfortunately singaporeans cant apply cos we're not among the few countries that korea issues teaching visas too..

anyway, no no, thanks for wanting to list my blog on yours. i'm honoured! am looking forward to learning more about teaching ESL in korea :)

btw, dexter is into its 4th season and i'm really looking forward to it coming out. i saw the previous 3 and liked them all, although season 1 is still the best!

you are very welcome!

i may have jumped the gun a bit, i probably wont start adding Korean ESL info for at least a few weeks, mainly because my friends who look at my blog do not yet know about it. I will be adding information about that soon though!

it is odd to me that Korea does not allow people from Singapore to teach ESL. especially since all my friends from Singapore have an excellent command of the english language...far superior to my own.

thanks again, and i will brush up on my dexter. good luck with the children.
