i'm just so glad that it arrived before i leave for australia, even though there arent any deadlines for submission.
it doesnt really answer most of my questions though, and the lady in-charge just received a nice email with 7 questions that i hope she can reply.. heh. basically it informed me that:
- my workplace is the City Board of Education (haha! it's like saying i'm working for MOE rather than XXX School. but i think it's cos they may not have decided exactly where i'll be going)
- they didnt indicate which level i'll be teaching, but i really suspect that i'll be posted to a few schools and hence teach a range of levels.
- i will receive 300, 000 yen in housing allowance. it works out to 25,000 yen a month, which helps a bit i think.
- i have 20 days of paid leave. sounds like a lot, but apparently japanese dont claim the full 20 days.
- working hours are from 8.30am to 4.15pm (nice and short!) but you never know about OT and the various weekend/holiday activities, and the unofficial after-hours events.
- my residence will be about 40-50min away from the schools that i'll be working in (so far! i was hoping for a change from the usual 1hr-to-reach-anywhere life in singapore...)
and that's all! nothing much else i dont already know..
